The JV uses a mixture of old, new, and late model design ideas and was developed to deliver the classic tone and look of the traditional Jazz Bass*. It still maintains the "faded" attack of the offset pole pieces in combination with our lowest noise preamp. The EMG-JV should appeal to the "retro" in you, while the coil and electronic design will convince you that this is a pickup to be seriously considered.
EMG verfolgt seit über 25 Jahren konsequent das Konzept der aktiven PickUps.
Aktiv bedeutet, dass in den PickUp ein Vorverstärker integriert ist, der das zu
übertragende Gitarrensignal weitgehend unabhängig gegen Störeinstrahlungen und
Kabeleinflüsse macht. Auch der Pegel ist etwas höher als das bei Passiven PickUps
üblich ist.
Im Gegensatz zu manchen anderen Aktivpickups setzte EMG von vorn herein höchstwertige,
extrem rauscharme Vorverstärker ein, so dass das früher gängige
Vorurteil "Aktivpickups rauschen" hier nie galt.
